PHILIP IKUMAWOYI, ESQ is a highly practical and consummate legal practitioner with unbridled energy for a cultivated legal practice in receivership, insolvency practice, debt recovery and other areas of commercial and corporate practice.
He is the head of practice at the Lagos office of CPJ Solicitors, and equally co-ordinates the business recovery and insolvency unit of the firm handling a series of briefs on business advisory services, asset tracing, debt recovery, receivership, etc.
Prior to joining the firm, he had worked in many reputable law firms in Lagos, Nigeria where he honed his skills in commercial and corporate practice. In one of the firms where he had worked, he was privileged to work under a close supervision of two brilliant and result-driven Senior Advocates of Nigeria with active involvement in the firm’s aggressive recovery effort culminating in the recovery of tens of billions of Naira for the firm’s corporate clients.
Philip has acted as counsel to many corporate and individual clients including Deposit Money Banks, Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, Sokoto Investment Company Limited and so on.
He is an expert in the field of general data protection law, and he has in fact undertaken several data protection compliance and breach services for a sizeable number of corporate clients.
He is also currently undertaking a personal research on cyber forensics in relation to digital assets.
Philip holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) of the prestigious University of Ibadan, Nigeria and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
